What is a riad?
Riads were the traditional residences where Moroccan families carried out most of their daily life, particularly the women, who spent most of their lives indoors, away from the public world.
"Riad" is in fact the Arabic word for garden, as these buildings are constructed around an internal courtyard where the heat of the day did not penetrate and the family could relax in private.
In the last few years, many riads have been converted into particular and stunning hotels.
